Floraliën Ghent
10 days of unique floral and green oasis in Ghent
Friday 1 May to Sunday 10 May 2026
Floraliën Gent is the international plant and flower festival in Ghent. Every four years, the city of Ghent is dominated by floral connection. The iconic locations Floraliënhal, Kuipke and Plantentuin in the Kunstenkwartier-Citadelpark form the backdrop for the most beautiful creations for 10 days. During this 10-day event, top national and international florists, ornamental growers, landscape architects and artists give their very best.
Power of connection
With the theme of “connection”, Floraliën celebrates the special power of flowers and plants to bring people closer together and strengthen their relationship with the environment. Even in challenging times, connectedness flourishes, inviting us to make new contacts, care for one another and enjoy the nature that connects us.
Floraliën invites you to experience this for yourself. Be moved, be inspired, and discover how flowers and plants bring us closer together.
In line with the theme of “connection”, we called on organisations and associations in Ghent to collaborate on one large work of art at Floraliën. Curious about this connecting initiative? Read more about it here >

Visit the Botanical Gardens during Floraliën
During the Floraliën, GUM & Botanical Garden becomes a vibrant meeting place for plant lovers, urban gardeners and curious visitors. The Ghent Botanical Garden, with more than 12.000 plants, takes you on an inspiring walk past micro greenhouses with the latest bedding plants. Along the way, you will get concrete ideas for any urban garden, right into the iconic Palmarium. Especially for the Floraliën, the Palmarium is being transformed into a lush green oasis where new cultivars and innovative techniques for sustainable cultivation and monitoring take centre stage.
In addition, Building Biospheres, an installation previously presented at the Venice Architecture Biennale, will be on display. This explores how the natural intelligence of plants influences architecture and living environments, and shows how plants actively control the microclimate. Green plants also make their measurable impact on air quality visible. More than twenty innovations from Flemish horticulture illustrate how innovation, drones and AI are leading to the plants of tomorrow. You will also receive practical tips on how to attract pollinators. In the tropical and subtropical greenhouses, you will discover where coffee, cocoa, sugar cane and chocolate come from. A free visit to our botanical garden combines inspiration, innovation and nature experience in the heart of the Floraliën.
To reach the Botanical Garden from the Floralies Hall, simply cross the N60.
Visit the GUM in May 2026 for €6 on presentation of your Floralies ticket and be surprised by the BORDERS exhibition.
